A successful entrepreneur and business owner of a multi-faceted family owned business that includes a gasoline service station, a country store, commercial leasing, and tenant leasing, Gary has experience with planning & zoning boards, licensing and permit issues and SBA financing.
As the Executive Director of the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees, Council 15 for 10 years, Gary successfully directed and coordinated lobbying activities at the Connecticut State Legislature creating an impressive resume of legislation supported and enacted into law and opposed and defeated. Political Action responsibilities included evaluating, endorsing and supporting candidates at the local and state level. Organizing levels of support based on congruency between a candidate’s positions and organizational objectives. Gary planned, organized and directed effective candidate fundraising activities that were in the best interests of the police officers he represented in 57 Connecticut municipalities.
Gary has served as an arbitrator on over 70 municipal interest (contract) arbitration panels and was appointed by the Labor Commissioner to serve on the neutral arbitrator selection committee.
A former Manchester police Sergeant, Gary is a Vietnam veteran (“H” Co. Ranger 75th Infantry Airborne) and serves on the Veterans’ of Foreign War National Legislative Committee, and is the VFW State Co-Chair of the Legislative and PAC Committee.
